lyrics

Two Ravens
Traditional, arr Chuck Bramlet

As I was walking all alone
I spied two ravens cawing
One to the other did say-o
Where shall we go and dine today-o?
Where shall we go and dine today?

Down behind that blackened mound
I know that a new corpse lies there
And no one knows that he lies there-o
But his hawk and his hound and his lady fair-o
But his hawk and his hound and his lady fair

His hound went hunting
His hawk to bring the wildfowl home
His lady found another man-o
So we may have our dinner plan-o
So we may have our dinner plan

You’ll land on his white thighbone
And I’ll peck his blue eyes out
Along with a lock of his golden hair-o
We’ll patch our nest where it grows bare-o
We’ll patch our nest where it grows bare

There are many wailing for him
But no one knows where he has gone
His scattered bones when they are bare-o
The wind shall blow forevermare-o
The wind shall blow forevermare

As I was walking all alone
I spied two ravens cawing
One to the other did say-o
Where shall we go and dine today-o?
Where shall we go and dine today?
